Did you miss Avatar: The Way of Water in the theatres when it released originally in 2022? If so, it is your chance to watch James Cameron's epic sequel to Avatar (2009) on the big screen again. The second film in the Avatar franchise is set to hit theatres again on October 03, but there is more exciting news for the franchise's admirers. According to a Variety exclusive, the film will show exclusive footage giving a glimpse to Avatar: Fire and Ash, the upcoming third part in the franchise. The makers plan to release three different clips from the film, although not all Avatar: The Way of Water screenings will have the same footage.
The news comes shortly after the release of the second Avatar: Fire and Ash trailer, much to the excitement of legions of Cameron fans. The film brings back Zeo Saldana and Sam Worthington as Na'vi group members Neyitri and Jake Sully, respectively. The recent trailer hints at a conflict between their Na'vi clan and a rival Na'vi group known as the Ash People.
The film also marks the return of actors Sigourney Weaver, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, Matt Gerald, Britain Dalton, Bailey Bass, Jack Champion, Edie Falco and Trinity Bliss. Newcomers to the franchise, David Thewlis and Oona Chaplin are also part of the film's cast.
Produced by Cameron himself with Jon Landau, Avatar: Fire and Ash is slated for a December 19 release in theatres worldwide.
