Warner Bros has released the teaser for its upcoming film, The Bride, recently. The film is directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, who is known for her role in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight.
Gyllenhaal has directed the film from her own screenplay. She also produces the film along with Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Talia Kleinhendler and Osnat Handelsman Keren. Carla Raij, David Webb and Courtney Kivowitz are serving as executive producers on the film. The Bride is releasing theatrically on March 6, 2026.
Jessie Buckley stars as the titular character, The Bride, with Christian Bale as Frankenstein. The Bride serves as a reunion for Bale and Gyllenhaal, after The Dark Knight, where Bale played Batman. The rest of the cast of the film includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Penelope Cruz, Annette Bening, and Peter Saarsgard.
The story of the film is as follows, "A lonely Frankenstein (Christian Bale) travels to 1930s Chicago to ask groundbreaking scientist Dr. Euphronious (Annette Bening) to create a companion for him. The two revive a murdered young woman and The Bride (Jessie Buckley) is born. What ensues is beyond what either of them imagined: Murder! Possession! A wild and radical cultural movement! And outlaw lovers in a wild and combustible romance!"
