James Gunn recently took to social media to share a picture of the script of the sequel for Superman (2025), Man of Tomorrow. The cover of the script was also included with an illustration of a being with non-human physiology.
The illustration was a cross-sectional illustration of the brain of the being. This potentially hints at the Superman villain Brainiac being part of the film. Created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino, the character was first introduced in 1958. Along with Lex Luthor, Brainiac has been considered to be a classic Superman villain.
Brainiac is a half alien and half android being, who is from the fictional planet of Colu. He shrinks cities and and collects them, with the most famous of them all being the bottled city of Kandor, the home of General Zod. The character has been portrayed across different media, with the latest portrayal being in the TV series, Superman and Lois.
Superman (2025) is the first feature film in the DC Universe. The new universe comes from the newly formed DC Studios, headed by James Gunn and Peter Safran. David Corenswet played Clark Kent/Kal-el/Superman alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicolas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is the next film in the DC Universe, with Milly Alcock as Supergirl and Jason Momoa as Lobo.
