
Brandon Perea, known for Nope and last seen in Twisters, is all set to lead the next instalment of Blumhouse’s Insidious franchise for Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems and Stage 6 Films, as per a report on Deadline.
He will be joining previously announced cast members Amelie Eve, Lin Shaye, Misie Richardson-Sellers, Sam Spruell and Island Austin. Helmed by Jacob Chase, the film is currently on the floors in Australia. Chase co-wrote the script for Insidious 6 along with David Leslie Johnson.
Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell are producing the sequel along with executive producers Ryan Turek, Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Johnson.
The Insidious franchise has raked in over $731 million worldwide with five films, starting from its launch at the Toronto International Film Festival 15 years ago, where Sony/Stage 6 Films acquired the title. The new instalment is slated to hit theatres on August 21, 2026.
In Twisters, Perea was seen as Boone, starring alongside Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones in the Lee Isaac Chung directorial. This weekend, he can be seen sharing the screen with Colin Farrell and Margot Robbie in the romance film, A Big, Bold, Beautiful Journey.
Brandon Perea's rise to fame came with the Netflix series, The OA. In Jordan Peele's Nope, he co-starred with Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yeun. In 2022, he was selected as one of the BAFTA Breakthrough Artists of the year. At the Critics’ Choice 2nd Annual Celebration of Latino Cinema and Television, he was honoured with the Rising Star Award for Film.
