Emmy Award winner and Oscar nominee Renée Taylor is set to share the screen with Tony-nominated actor Austin Pendleton in When Robert Met Judith, a new short film directed by Yaniv Rokah.

The story centres on Robert (Pendleton), an elderly nursing home resident whose days follow a quiet, predictable rhythm until Judith (Taylor), a fellow resident, extends kindness and persistence that begins to change his world.

Speaking about the project, Rokah said, “This film is deeply personal for me. I wanted to create something intimate, tender and emotionally resonant, capturing how love and connection can arrive at any stage of life — even in its final chapters. With a phenomenal cast led by Renée Taylor and Austin Pendleton, the project balances poignancy with humour and celebrates the resilience of the human spirit.”

Behind the camera, the short is produced by Jerry Silverhardt, Roi Vadai, and Christine Sheaks—the casting director behind acclaimed titles like Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and Red Rock West. Cinematography is by Ari Rothschild and Tristan Cohen.

Taylor is widely recognised for her work in The Producers, while Pendleton’s screen highlights include My Cousin Vinny.
