British actor Amanda Abbington, known for BBC One's Sherlock, headlines the upcoming drama Jones. The show pays tribute to classic Agatha Christie mystery stories.
The film is produced by Caracol Studios for the Portuguese public broadcaster RTP. The story follows the murder at a grand family gathering in Sintra. Detective Jones teams with the victim, Julia, to crack the case in the labyrinth of hints, mysteries, and red herrings.
Created and directed by Bruno Gascon, the series combines whodunit mechanics with supernatural twists and dark humour, according to Variety. The six-part series has Abbington play Eve, a quick-witted and slightly erratic actor who is pulled into an investigation led by Jose Pimentao's Oliver Jones, who is gifted with the ability to speak to the dead.
The cast also includes Ivo Canelas, Rui Morrison, Raquel Rocha Vieira, Paula de Magalhaes, Rafael Morais, Afonso Lagarto, Silvia Chiola, and Margarida Moreira.
