Ridley Scott has some choice comments when it comes to the state of cinematic content currently. The director was speaking at an event held by the British Film Institute, at a session, held to celebrate his work.
According to Metro, the director said, "The quantity of movies that are made today, literally globally – millions. Not thousands, millions... and most of it is s**t." He added, "Because I think a lot of films today are saved and made more expensive by digital effects, because what they haven’t got is a great thing on paper first. Get it on paper!"
Speaking about one of his earlier films he said, "‘I watched Black Hawk (Down) the other night and I thought, 'How in the hell did I manage to do that?' But I think occasionally a good one will happen... it’s like a relief that there’s somebody out there who’s doing a good movie."
Scott's next directorial is The Dog Stars, which is an adaptation of the Peter Heller novel, which was released in 2012. The film stars Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, and Margaret Qualley, amongst others.
