An unlikely rookie is set to change the fictional sport of 'Roarball', in the upcoming film, Goat. The animated sports film is from Sony Pictures Animation and has basketball player Stephen Curry backing it, and voicing the character.

Goat was first announced by directors Tyree Dillihay and Adam Rosette at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2025. The film is set to release theatrically on February 16, 2026.

The voice cast of Goat is led by Caleb McLaughlin and also includes Gabrielle Union, Nicola Coughlan, Nick Kroll, David Harbour, Jenifer Lewis, Aaron Pierre, Patton Oswalt, Andrew Santino, Bobby Lee, Eduardo Franco, Sherry Cola, Jelly Roll, and Jennifer Hudson.

Deviating from the popular acronym, the story centres around a small goat named Will, who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to join the pros to play roarball, which is described as a highly intense, co-ed, and full-contact sport, dominated by the fastest and fiercest animals in the world. Even though Will's new teammates aren't excited about a small goat joining their team, Will is determined to prove that 'smalls can ball'.

Aaron Buchsbaum and Teddy Riley have written the story of Goat. Curry produces the film under his Unanimous Media banner, with other producers on the film being Erick Peyton, Michelle Raimo Kouyate, Adam Rosenberg, and Rodney Rothman. David Schulenburg serves as a co-producer, with Rick Mischel and Fonda Snyder serving as executive producers.

Meanwhile, McLaughlin will be seen in his breakout role as Lucas Sinclair, in the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, which is set to premiere on November 21.
