

Ethan Hawke is all set to receive the Career Achievement Award at the upcoming Palm Springs International Film Awards for his performance in Richard Linklater's recent film Blue Moon.
The Palm Springs International Film Festival, which was launched in 1990, is having its latest edition from January 2-11, 2026. The awards will be presented at January 3.
Linklater and Hawke had collaborated nine times including the Before trilogy and Boyhood. Blue Moon also starred Lorenz Hart, alongside Margaret Qualley, Bobby Cannavale and Andrew Scott.
Festival Chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi said, "Ethan Hawke has spent four decades building one of the most adventurous and prolific careers in film, consistently delivering performances defined by depth, intelligence, and fearless originality." Speaking about his performance in Blue Moon, he said, "He (Hawke) brings those same qualities to his show-stopping portrayal of Lorenz Hart, capturing the famed lyricist at a moment when his life is unraveling as his former partner Richard Rodgers debuts Oklahoma!. Hawke’s work here stands among the most powerful performances of his career. It is a privilege to present the Career Achievement Award to Ethan Hawke."
Hawke is also known for films Dead Poet’s Society, Training Day, Sinister, The Purge, and The Black Phone. His directorials include Wildcat and Blaze.
Hawke now joins the lineup of previously announced honorees, including Michael B Jordan (Icon Award), Adam Sandler (Chairman’s Award), Leonardo DiCaprio (Desert Palm Achievement Award – Actor), Chloe Zhao, Hamnet stars Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal (Vanguard Award), as well as the ensemble of Sentimental Value(International Star Award).
