
Actor Issa Rae, best known for Insecure, is set to star in MRC's comedy thriller, titled Good People, Bad Things.
The film will be written and directed by Scottish filmmaker Ninian Doff of Get Duked! fame. According to the makers, Good People, Bad Things follows Issa Rae's character who is said to be an overwhelmed woman. She gets lost in a mysterious infinite parking garage and soon discovers that she is not alone. She is joining hands with the studio after Cord Jefferson’s Oscar-winning American Fiction (2023) and Netflix's The Lovebirds (2020).
Laura Tunstall and Stephanie Wilcox back the project under their and Doff’s new banner Present Company Inc. Rae also produces along with Montrel McKay for Hoorae. Sara Rastogi from Hoorae serves as an executive producer with Michelle Craig and Piero Frescobaldi.
Widely recognized for her work as the creator and star of HBO’s Emmy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated comedy Insecure, Rae recently appeared alongside Emma Corrin and Awkwafina in “Hotel Reverie,” an AI-focused episode from the critically acclaimed seventh season of Black Mirror which was released recently on Netflix. Her other recent projects include Barbie and American Fiction.
