Josh O'Connor is set to star in Joel Coen's upcoming film, Jack of Spades, reports Deadline. Details surrounding the film remain scarce. However, the project marks another high-profile engagement for O'Connor, who is collaborating on Steven Spielberg's next film with Amblin Universal. The sci-fi feature from Spielberg boasts a cast including Emily Blunt, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo.

Josh O'Connor recently revealed that after working on the Spielberg film, he plans to take a brief gardening break in England before another film project this summer "somewhere in Europe" with a "pretty famous American" director. Reports confirmed Joel Coen's involvement, along with the film's title and Scottish location. While offers have reportedly been extended to two successful British actresses for roles alongside O'Connor, their names remain unconfirmed.

Josh O'Connor was recently at the Cannes Film Festival for the global premiere of The Mastermind, a heist film from director Kelly Reichardt. The actor was granted a break from Spielberg's set to attend the prestigious festival.

O'Connor's burgeoning resume includes Rian Johnson's Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, the next instalment in the detective series featuring Daniel Craig in the lead role, and Rebuilding, the Max Walker-Silverman directorial that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January. He also features with Paul Mescal in The History of Sound, the Oliver Hermanus directorial based on Ben Shattuck's novella.

Joel Coen's last solo directorial effort was The Tragedy of Macbeth, starring Frances McDormand and Denzel Washington, also set in in Scotland.
