The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is continuing to line up its tributes as well as the makers of the deadly game. Molly McCann has been cast as Louella, a pivotal character in the book and Iona Bell will star as her lookalike Lou Lou as assigned by the Capitol. Directed by Francis Lawrence, the film, based on Suzanne Collins' eponymous novel, is slated for a November 20, 2026 release.

They join previously announced cast members Joseph Zada and Whitney Peak who play Haymitch Abernathy and his girlfriend Lenore Dove Baird, Mckenna Grace as Maysilee Donner, Ralph Fiennes as President Snow, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee, Maya Hawke as Wiress, Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Beetee, Lili Taylor as Mags and Ben Wang as Wyatt. We had earlier reported about Elle Fanning joining the film as Effie Trinket, which has also been confirmed by the makers.

Set 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games during the Second Quarter Quell (50th Hunger Games), it will centre on a 12-year-old Haymitch Abernathy, portrayed by Woody Harrelson in the original Hunger Games movies and how he competes in the games with 48 children as tributes.

Francis Lawrence has helmed every Hunger Games installment since 2012’s Catching Fire. Billy Ray, who has co-written the original trilogy, is writing the screenplay for the film.

McCann's television work includes notable titles such as Bad Sisters, The Hardacres, The Boy That Never Was, and Star Wars: Visions. Her film credits feature Never Grow Old, and she earned an IFTA nomination for her performance in Herself. She will also appear in the upcoming project Feed.

Bell has been seen in the TV production Mandrake and is set to appear in the upcoming films Fing!, Savage Flowers, and Frayed.

The upcoming film is being bankrolled by Color Force’s Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson. Cameron MacConomy is the executive producer.
