Wes Anderson teased his next film with Roman Coppola and Richard Ayoade at the Cannes Film Festival. Reportedly, the film is set to reunite Anderson with his co-writer Coppola and star Ayoade of The Phoenician Scheme. However, he did not reveal whether the next film would feature Ayoade as an actor and/or writer. Ayoade also appeared in Anderson's short films The Rat Catcher and The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, based on Roald Dahl's eponymous short stories.
Wes Anderson's fourth film to have a premiere as part of the Cannes Film Festival's Competition section, The Phoenician Scheme stars Richard Ayoade as a character named Sergio. Besides The Phoenician Scheme, Anderson's collaborations with Roman Coppola include Asteroid City, Fantastic Mr Fox, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Isle of Dogs, The French Dispatch, Moonrise Kingdom, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, and The Darjeeling Limited.
The filmmaker visited Cannes for the world premiere of The Phoenician Scheme, which he directed from a screenplay he wrote alongside Coppola. Starring Benicio del Toro and Mia Threapleton, among others, The Phoenician Scheme is set for a June 06 release in India.
