Syrian director and producer Sam Kadi's upcoming political thriller, The American Spring, will star Christina Hendricks, Cary Elwes and Mena Massoud in prominent roles.

The film is set against the backdrop of the national rift, where the ambitions of the presidential aspirant Dominic Nelson, the Massachusetts governor, come crashing down in a heavily polarised primary race.

Popular for her role in the 2007 TV series Mad Men (2007-2015), Christina Hendricks is also known for her roles in feature films such as Life as We Know It (2010), Drive (2011), The Family Tree (2011), Zoolander 2 (2016), Fist Fight (2017), American Woman (2018) and the 2019 film Toy Story 4. Her previous film, The Storied Life of AJ Fikry, was released in 2022. She currently essays Cynthia Mans in the series Good American Family.

Elwes is popular for his roles in Twister (1996), Liar Liar (1997), Saw (2004), Saw 3D (2010), No Strings Attached (2011), The Adventures of Tintin (2011), Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox (2013) and Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One (2023). His upcoming films include the period drama film The Panic and Dead Man's Wire.

Massoud, meanwhile, made his feature debut, Ordinary Days (2017); he has also starred in films Aladdin (2019), Run This Town (2020), The Royal Treatment (2022) and The Sacrifice Game (2023). Last seen in this year's Wish You Were Here, he has Tecie in the pipeline.
