Sandra Oh is set to lead the cast of the psychological thriller film Child's Play, reports Variety. The film is directed by Chinese independent filmmaker Wang Xiaoshuai.

Child's Play follows the story of Marlene Lee, an American girl born to Chinese immigrants, who crosses a line to impress her friend Charlene as she attends a summer camp for girls in 1983. As she builds up her career in politics, she is forced to connect with Charlene and her demons, as she is on the verge of an electoral victory.

Oh is known for her work in projects like Killing Eve, Grey's Anatomy, The Sympathizer, The Princess Diaries, and Invincible.

Xiaoshuai is known for So Long, My Son, Shanghai Dreams, Chongqing Blues, and Red Amnesia.

Child's Play is written by Hannah Moscovitch and is produced by Niv Fichman, Mike Goodridge, and Liu Xuan. Stephen Kelliher is an executive producer for the film under the Bankside Films banner. Rhombus Media, Good Chaos, and Dong Chun (Shanghai) Films are backing Child's Play.

Production on Child's Play is set to start in September and will be filmed on location in Toronto and North Bay, Ontario, Canada.
