
Actor Liza Colón-Zayas, best known for her role as Tina in Jeremy Allen White's The Bear, has joined the growing cast of Spider-Man: The Brand New Day, the fourth instalment in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man franchise.
Details of her role has not been disclosed. As earlier reported, Stranger Things-fame Sadie Sink is also part of the cast. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are returning for the upcoming much-anticipated film.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who has previously helmed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings for Marvel, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is backed by Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has a screenplay written by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna. Details about the plot of the upcoming instalment are undisclosed.
With production set to begin later this year, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on July 31, 2026.
Colón-Zayas earned an Emmy last year for her portrayal of the strong yet compassionate line cook Tina Marrero on FX’s comedy series The Bear. Her win marked a milestone as the first Latina to receive the Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy. The show premiered its third season last summer and has been renewed for a fourth. On the film side, her recent appearances include IF and Cat Person. She's also known for roles in series such as In Treatment and David Makes Man.
