
Star of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, John Leguizamo, gave a peek into the directing style of Nolan in an interview with MSNBC. Leguizamo talked about the film while promoting his new project Bob Trevino Likes It.
Speaking about The Odyssey and Nolan, Leguizamo said, "Dude, you know the thing is... Okay, he's got a crazy budget; it's not small, but he runs (it) like an indie film because he he is not doing it by committee. He is not doing what the studio says. He is like an indie filmmaker, with crazy money."
Bob Trevino Likes It is a drama film starring Leguizamo, Barbie Ferreira, Lauren Spencer, and Rachel Bay Jones. It is the feature film directorial debut of Tracie Laymon, who writes and produces the film, which is based on her life. The film follows the story of a woman who befriends a man she finds online with the same name as her estranged father.
The Odyssey is written by Nolan and produced by Nolan and Emma Thomas, his wife and producing partner. Based on Homer's epic, the film follows the story of Odysseus' journey after the end of the Trojan War. The film stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, with Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o, Jon Bernthal, and Charlize Theron.
The Odyssey is set to release theatrically on July 17, 2026.
