Regina Hall is the latest to join the cast of Nicholas Stoller's upcoming yet-to-be-titled comedy film from Amazon MGM Studios. She joins previously announced cast members Will Ferrell and Zac Efron.

The film, previously titled Judgement Day, has been scripted to screen by Stoller himself. The director and Ferrell are reuniting after their recent film You're Cordially Invited, also starring Reese Witherspoon, Geraldine Viswanathan and Meredith Hagner.

According to the plotline, the film revoles around a young convict played by Efron who, after being released from prison, takes an unscripted TV courtroom hostage, believing that the judge (Ferrell) issued a ruling that ruined his life. Hall’s role remains undisclosed for now.

Producers for the film are Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Alex Brown for Gloria Sanchez Productions and Stoller for Stoller Global Solutions. A release date for the project is yet to be announced.

Hall will soon appear in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as Searchlight Pictures’ original rock opera O’Dessa. She is widely recognized for her roles in The Best Man, Think Like a Man, and the Scary Movie franchise. Her recent film credits include Me Time, Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul, and Master.

Stoller is best known for directing films like Bros, Neighbors and its sequel, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. He also co-created the Apple TV+ series Platonic, starring Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne.
