Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson's co-star from Die Hard with a Vengeance, turned 70 the other day. While speaking to Vanity Fair for a story, paying tribute to Willis on the special occasion, Pulp Fiction star Jackson recalled that one piece of advice he got from the actor. “He told me, ‘Hopefully you’ll be able to find a character that, when you make bad movies and they don’t make any money, you can always go back to this character everybody loves,'” said Jackson. “He said, ‘Arnold’s got Terminator. Sylvester’s got Rocky, Rambo. I’ve got John McClane.’”

Subsequently, Jackson revealed that Willis' piece of wisdom did not mean much to him until he played Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting in 2008's Iron Man. "I had a nine-picture deal to be Nick Fury—that, oh, I’m doing what Bruce said. I’ve got this character now," Samuel L Jackson stated.

Jackson and Willis also collaborated on Unbreakable, the M Night Shyamalan directorial about a superhuman character who does not realise his true powers.

The other day, Bruce Willis celebrated his birthday with his family, including former wife and Oscar nominee Demi Moore. In 2022, Willis quit acting owing to health problems, especially aphasia.

On the other hand, Samuel L Jackson has The Beast, where he plays US President, and an action film titled Afterburn alongside Dave Bautista, in the pipeline.
