Pendulum, produced by Darren Aronofsky and helmed by Mark Heyman, writer of Black Swan, has added Phoebe Dynevor to the cast. She will be starring alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the upcoming film, which is described as a "terrifying new genre film."
Motel Mojave's Jacob Jaffke and C2's Dave Caplan have joined as producers to fully finance Pendulum. Principal photography for the film is scheduled to commence this month in New Mexico.
Gordon-Levitt and Dynevor will be seen as the young couple Patrick and Abigail in Pendulum. After a traumatic event, the couple choose to embark on a journey of healing through a new-age retreat in New Mexico. However, when Patrick, who is willing to do anything for his wife to heal, becomes cynical of the retreat's bright leader, Abigail is thoroughly spellbound by her. With unheard-of spiritual practices being offered by the group, the couple must understand if these are genuine healing techniques or if a terrifying truth is being concealed which threaten their existence, all in an atmosphere of paranoia.
Dynevor's claim to fame came with her role as Daphne Bridgerton in Netflix's acclaimed series, Bridgerton. She also had a well-known role in the streamer's Fair Play. Coming up, she has Beneath the Storm which is set for release later this year, while she has also completed filming for A24's dark comedy Famous, co-starring Zac Efron. Also in the pipeline, she has M Night Shyamalan's next alongside Jake Gyllenhaal.
