Things are about to get freaky for Anna (Lindsay Lohan) and Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) once again. This time after 22 years. The first trailer for Disney's Freakier Friday reveals that Tess and Anna have swapped bodies, but there's a catch. Anna's daughter and soon-to-be stepdaughter are also caught in the madness of this four-way body swap.

The multigenerational twist causes confusion and they must all learn to resolve their issues and come together as a family if they can get back to their original bodies. The trailer also gives a glimpse of Chad Michael Murray who reprises his role as Jake from the original.

Directed by Nisha Ganatra from a script by Jordan Weiss, the much-awaited sequel to the 2003 fantasy comedy film is slated for a release in theatres on August 8, 2025.

Returning cast members also include Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao. The new cast members on Freakier Friday are Julia Butters, Jordan E Cooper, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons.

The title for the film was announced at D23 event last year and shooting completed in August 2024. The upcoming film is produced by Andrew Gunn and Kristin Burr.

Based on Mary Rodgers's 1972 novel of the same name, it is the third adaptation of the same story and fifth installment overall in the Freaky Friday franchise. The 2003 film was directed by Mark Waters.
