The fourth installment of Tom Holland's Spider-Man films, yet to be titled, has added Sadie Sink to the cast. The film comes from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton.
The upcoming film, tentatively titled Spider-Man 4, has a screenplay written by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna. Details about the plot of the upcoming installment and the character Sink is set to portray are undisclosed.
The third film in the franchise, Spider-Man: No Way Home, ended with MJ (Zendaya) and the entire world forgetting the identity of teenage Peter Parker as Spider-Man.
The film, earlier scheduled to hit theatres on July 24, 2026, has now been postponed to July 31, after Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey set July 17 as its release date. It is to be noted that Holland also stars in Nolan's upcoming film, alongside A-listers such as Matt Damon in the titular role, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, and Charlize Theron, among others.
Jon Watts successfully directed the first three Spider-Man films starring Tom Holland, including Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and Spider-Man: No Way Home. All three films were both critically acclaimed and commercially successful.
Spider-Man 4 is backed by Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. While Zendaya is in talks to reprise her role as the female lead, her deal has not been finalised. The rest of the cast remains under wraps.
Sadie Sink has previously worked with Destin Daniel Cretton on his third directorial, The Glass Cattle (2017). Known for her performance as Max Mayfield in Stranger Things, she recently wrapped filming for the fifth and final season of the series. She is also starring in O'Dessa, the upcoming film from Searchlight. Meanwhile, on the theatre front, she is set to essay a role in the Broadway play John Proctor Is The Villain.
