Actor Ayo Edebiri has spoken out for the first time in weeks after being subjected to racial slurs and death threats following Elon Musk's fake news report on her replacing Johnny Depp in a reboot of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

"Disney sucks," the businessman said. The X handle Unlimited L’s which posted the news was a rightwing account with no connection to Hollywood sources.

Sharing the issues she faced after Musk reposted the news, Edebiri wrote on her Instagram stories, "Just remembering when I got some of the most insane death threats and racial slurs of my life (idk if it’s the #1 moment, but for sure top 3) for a fake reboot of a movie I had never even heard of because of this man,” Edebiri wrote while sharing Musk’s original post. “LMAO. So not only is he double s**g h**l-ing [sieg heil-ing] fascist, he’s an idiot but anyway."

The owner of the X account responded to Edebiri's comments and said, "I clearly stated ‘reportedly’ because it was the latest information coming from credible Hollywood sources. And yes, I am a HUGE fan and supporter of Mr Musk. He has my loyalty for LIFE, and I don’t say that lightly."

In a past Instagram story, Edebiri praised comedian Bill Burr for his remarks on NPR’s Fresh Air, where he criticized Elon Musk. Burr referred to Musk as “evidently a Nazi” and questioned his hand gesture at Donald Trump’s inauguration, stating, “I just refuse to believe it was an accidental two-time Sieg Heil.”

Burr further insulted Musk, calling him an “idiot” with “dyed hair plugs and a laminated face.” He mocked Musk’s ventures, saying he produces “a bad car” and runs an “obsolete social media platform.” Burr also questioned why liberals are intimidated by someone he believes “couldn’t fight his way out of a wet paper bag.”

In 2019, Disney announced its plan to start working on the sixth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean. However, the makers didn't confirm Depp's casting. Following Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard's much-publicised defamation trial, he was dropped from the sixth film. Last year, Jerry Bruckheimer said that a reboot is in the works from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales writer Jeff Nathanson, but updates from the film have been undisclosed.
