
HBO's The Last of Us has added several new cast members for its upcoming season. According to Variety, Alanna Ubach, Robert John Burke, Joe Pantoliano, Noah Lamanna, Ben Ahlers, and Hetienne Park are joining the second season in roles that originated in the game and the show.
The first season of the series followed Joel as he escorted Ellie across a dystopian USA, for Ellie is believed to be the key to saving the world from the fungal virus, Cordyceps. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey starred as Joel and Ellie, along with several guest stars like Anna Torv, Gabriel Luna, Nico Parker, Merle Dandridge, Nick Offerman, and Murray Bartlett, with Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, who were Joel and Ellie in the game.
Pantoliano, Burke and Lamanna play characters from the game. While Pantoliano plays Eugene, a man who grew cannabis in a lab, Burke plays Seth, a bartender in the community where Joel and Ellie end up in season one. Lamanna plays Kat, a person Ellie dates before the events of season two. Ubach, Ahlers, and Park play Hanrahan, Burton and Elise Park, respectively.
Pascal and Ramsey return for the second season with Kaitlyn Dever joining as Abby. Isabela Merced, Tati Gabrielle, Young Mazino, Danny Ramirez, Spencer Lord, Ariela Barer, and Catherine O'Hara star in season two. Jeffrey Wright reprises his role as Isaac from the game for season two.
Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann return as showrunners for season two. They are set to direct along with Mark Mylod, Kate Herron, Stephen Williams, Nina Lopez-Corrado, and Peter Hoar. Mazin and Druckmann are also executive producers for the series along with Carolyn Strauss, Evan Wells, the president of Naughty Dog, Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions. Season Two is produced by HBO, Sony Pictures Television, Word Games, The Mighty Mint, along with Naughty Dog and PlayStation Productions.
The Last of Us season two is set to premiere on JioHotstar on April 14, 2025.
