
Ray Mendoza is an Iraqi war veteran who previously worked with Alex Garland on Civil War as a military supervisor. Now, he is co-directing Warfare with Garland, a film about a team of Navy SEALs in the Iraq War. This comes after Garland revealed that he is stepping back from directing for the foreseeable future.
Marketed as a story made from memory, Warfare follows a group of Navy SEALs who guard the movement of US forces through a dangerous territory. Ray Mendoza has written the film along with Garland in Mendoza's directorial debut.
D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai stars as Ray in the film. With him, Will Poulter, Cosmo Jarvis, Kit Connor, Finn Bennett, Taylor John Smith, Micheal Gandolfini, Adain Bradley, Noah Centineo, Evan Holtzman, Henrique Zage, Joseph Quinn, and Charles Melton star. DNA Films is producing Warfare, and A24 is distributing it.
Warfare is set to release theatrically in the United States on April 11.
