The most-awaited and star-studded 97th Academy Awards that took place at The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, saw Anora, a comedy drama about a sex worker who marries a Russian oligarch’s son, has walked away with five Oscars - Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Editing and Best Original Screenplay. Mickey Madison triumphed against some big names like Demi Moore, Cynthia Erivo, Karla Sofía Gascón and Fernanda Torres to win The Best Actress award.

Adrien Brody took Best Actor for The Brutalist, 22 years after his win for The Pianist. The film which saw Brody play a brilliant, but troubled architect, took home three awards including Best Actor, Best Cinematography and Best Original Score.

Emilia Pérez, which entered the night with a staggering 13 nominations — the most ever for a non-English language film, took two awards for Best Original Song ‘El Mal’ and Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldana. This marks the Avatar actor's first Academy Award.

No Other Land, a documentary feature about the Israeli demolitions of Palestinian property in southern West Bank won an Oscar while I’m Still Here, a family drama set during Brazil’s military dictatorship, was named Best International Feature.
