Tom Cruise took to social media to once again promote his Top Gun: Maverick filmmaker Joseph Kosinski and longtime collaborator, producer Jerry Bruckheimer's latest action film F1, starring Brad Pitt. In addition, the actor reminisced about Days of Thunder, which is turning 35 this year. "I always love the fun and adrenaline of a racing film. Today marks two racing milestones for my friend Jerry Bruckheimer, the release of F1 and the 35 year anniversary to the day of our collaboration with the great Tony Scott on Days of Thunder," Cruise wrote on Instagram yesterday.

Cruise shared BTS stills from the 1990 film, which follows a hot-tempered, talented and hotshot stock car driver overcoming his personal struggles and rivalries to win the 'Daytona 500' NASCAR race with the help of his mentor (Robert Duvall). Days of Thunder also stars Nicole Kidman; Cruise and Kidman fell in love on the sets of the film and got married in December 1990.

Interestingly, F1 also has a plotline similar to Days of Thunder. The Joseph Kosinski directorial follows a former Formula One driver (Pitt) who comes out of retirement to mentor a rookie (Damson Idris). The cast also includes Javier Bardem and Kerry Condon.

Recently, Cruise praised F1, and Pitt expressed his desire to reunite with his Interview with the Vampire co-star. The two met after a long time at the London premiere of the Formula One-based film.
