
Actor Callina Liang, who recently starred in Steven Soderbergh's supernatural thriller Presence, has landed the female lead role in Legendary's live-action film Street Fighter, directed by Bad Trip fame Kitao Sakurai.
Also joining Liang, who plays Chun-Li, a skilled martial artist and Interpol officer who first appeared in Street Fighter (1991), are Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa, Orville Peck, and Roman Reigns.
In addition to starring opposite Lucy Liu and Chris Sullivan in Presence, Liang's other works include Bad Genius and Apple TV+'s Foundation. She has, to her television credits, the ITVX teen drama Tell Me Everything's first season in 2022.
The film is based on the 1987 series of fighting games of the same name. The games are centred on a motley of martial artists who face off in intense one-on-one battles. The game series is one of the highest-grossing video game franchises, with sales of over 55 million units.
