
Russell Crowe has joined the cast of Highlander, reported Collider. The film, which stars Henry Cavill in the lead, is directed by Chad Stahelski, who is known for directing the John Wick films.
The reboot is based on the 1986 film of the same name, which follows Connor MacLeod, an immortal who is trained by a swordsman named Ramirez, as Connor is set to fight at the Gathering for the Prize.
Cavill is set to portray Connor Macleod, with Crowe's character details yet to be revealed. Crowe's upcoming projects include Nuremberg, The Beast in Me, and Bear Country.
Michael Finch has written the screenplay for Highlander. Scott Stuber, Neal H Moritz, Josh Davis, Louis Rosner, and Stahelski are producing the film. United Artists, Davis Panzer Productions, Lionsgate, and Amazon MGM Studios are backing the film.
