Juliana Canfield, fresh off her Tony Award nomination for Broadway's Stereophonic and known for her role in HBO's Succession, has secured a lead role alongside Brandon Sklenar in Warner Bros' upcoming action thriller FAST. Warner Bros has kept details about Canfield's character under wraps. The film, which marks veteran cinematographer Ben Richardson's feature directorial debut, plunges an erstwhile special forces commando into a black-ops mission against drug dealers operating under CIA protection.

Taylor Sheridan has penned the script, which Warner Bros commissioned before Sheridan's current agreement with Paramount. Paramount has granted Sheridan permission to provide his services for the project during their exclusive window.

David Heyman will produce FAST for Heyday Films alongside Jeffrey Clifford. Sheridan and Jenny Wood from Bosque Ranch Productions are also backing the film. Warner Bros Pictures President of Production Jesse Ehrman and EVP of Production Kevin McCormick are overseeing the film. Audiences can expect FAST to hit theaters on April 23, 2027.

Canfield's career has seen a significant ascent. Before her recent Tony Award nod, she garnered two SAG Awards as part of the ensemble cast for her portrayal of Jess Jordan, Kendall Roy's assistant, in HBO's critically acclaimed series Succession. Her other credits include Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story, FX’s Y: The Last Man, and David E Kelley’s The Calling for Peacock. Canfield's feature film debut was opposite Michael Stuhlbarg and Julia Garner in Kitty Green’s #MeToo drama, The Assistant. She also appeared in The Neighbors’ Window, Marshall Curry’s Academy Award-winning short film.
