Actor Gemma Chan is the latest addition to the star cast of The Five-Star Weekend TV series, based on Elin Hilderbrand's novel of the same name, at Peacock.
The Crazy Rich Asians actor is set to play a series regular Gigi Ling. She will be joined by the previously announced cast members Jennifer Garner, Regina Hall and Chloe Sevigny.
The story of the series follows a food blogger, Hollis Shaw, who has a seemingly perfect life with her heart surgeon husband in a beautiful house in Nantucket, Massachusetts, USA. The chinks in her 'perfect life' begin surfacing after her husband's death in a car accident, following which she invites her four friends to spend a special weekend at her home in Nantucket.
While Jennifer Garner plays the lead Hollis Shaw, Hall plays Ann, Hollis' college roommate and a successful sportscaster.
Chan's acting credits include Captain Marvel, Eternals, Channel 4 series Humans, Watership Down and Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
The Five-Star Weekend is created by Bekah Brunstetter and is written by Beth Schacter. Schacter serves as an executive producer with author Hilderbrand, Sue Neagle, and Ali Krug.
