As per a Deadline report, Netflix is moving forward with an action comedy film starring former SNL participant Andy Samberg and Jason Momoa. Reportedly, the film, which is yet to have a title, is set in Hawaii, Momoa's native. Samberg is also producing the film through his Party Over Here banner alongside Momoa's label On The Roam. The makers are yet to reveal further information about the film's plot.
Emmy-nominated screenwriters John Solomon and Rob Klein are attached to the project. However, the makers are yet to rope in a director for the film. Momoa is fresh off the highly successful A Minecraft Movie, which reportedly minted over $948 million from the worldwide box office. Momoa's upcoming projects also include The Wrecking Crew, an action comedy co-starring Dave Bautista, and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow where the actor portrays an intergalactic alien named Lobo, Chief of War, Animal Friends co-starring Ryan Reynolds, Aubrey Plaza, and Vince Vaughn, and Dune 3.
Samberg's next project is the dark comedy The Roses, Jay Roach’s remake of 1989's The War of the Roses.
