Netflix’s recent hit romantic comedy-drama series, Nobody Wants This, will premiere on the streamer on October 23. The announcement was made on Monday by the series’ primary cast, namely, Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Justine Lupe, Jackie Tohn and Timothy Simons.
Season 2 of Nobody Wants This went on floors in March. Bell and Brody are set to return as Joanne and Noah in the upcoming season. While the former stars as an agnostic podcaster, the latter plays a rabbi, both of whom fall in love. The series first premiered in 2024 and became an instant hit, shortly after which it was renewed for another season.
The first season saw Noah and Joanne fall in love despite obstacles such as differences in ideologies and lifestyle, as well as their not-so-supportive families. The plot for the second season still remains under wraps.
Erin Foster, the creator of Nobody Wants This, has brought onboard new showrunner Bruce Eric Kaplan and Jenni Konner for the second season. The series is inspired by Foster's own life story. Also set to reprise their roles in the second season are Justine Lupe and Timothy Simons as regulars. Jackie Tohn has been promoted to a series regular for the next season.
Brody's real-life spouse, Leighton Meester, is one of the many actors who have come onboard the second season as guest stars. Meester will be seen as Abby, an Instagram mommy influencer who was previously Joanne's school nemesis. Miles Fowler is set to be seen as Lenny, Morgan's (Lupe) potential match in the second season and Noah's Matzah Ballers teammate. Also guest starring are Alex Karpovsky and Arian Moayed. The former will be seen as an overconfident rabbi at Noah's temple, 'Big Noah', while the latter will essay Dr Andy, a charming psychotherapist who might be the perfect partner for Morgan.
Executive producers of Nobody Wants This are Erin Foster, Sara Foster, Steven Levitan, Bell, Danielle Stokdyk, Jeff Morton, Kaplan, Konner, and Nora Silver. 20th Television is producing the series in association with Steven Levitan Productions.
