Warner Bros took to social media to announce that the next film in the Evil Dead franchise, Evil Dead Rise, has begun filming. The upcoming film is a sequel to the 2023 film Evil Dead Rise.

Evil Dead Burn is directed by Sebastian Vanicek, and stars Souheila Yacoub in the lead. Yacoub was previously seen in Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part II, as a Fremen warrior. Apart from Yacoub, the cast also includes Lucaine Buchanan, Hunter Doohan, and Tandi Wright. Buchanan will be seen alongside Jason Momoa in Apple TV+'s Chief Of War. Doohan was recently seen in Daredevil: Born Again, as Bastian Cooper/Muse. Wright was last in Ti West's horror flick, Pearl.

The franchise began in 1979, with The Evil Dead (1981), which was directed by Sam Raimi and produced by Robert Tapert. The Evil Dead (1981), follows a group of college kids who, when vacationing at an isolated cabin in the woods, release a horde of demons and spirits. One amongst them Ash Williams, will have to survive against all odds, as his companions start to get possessed as well. Raimi and Tapert went on to make two sequels, Evil Dead II (1987) and Army of Darkness (1993). The fourth instalment to the series came in the form of 2013's Evil Dead, with the latest entrant being Evil Dead Rise.

Vanicek, who previously helmed Infested, is directing Evil Dead Burn from a script written by himself and Florent Bernard. Raimi is producing the film with Tapert. Star of the original Bruce Campbell is on board as an executive producer, with Lee Cronin, director of Evil Dead Rise, Romel Adam, and Jose Canas.
