
David Jonsson has started filming for his lead role in singer-songwriter Frank Ocean's independent film, which marks his directorial debut, in Mexico City. The film is yet to have a title, and its makers have not revealed any details about its plot.
Jonsson recently garnered critical acclaim for his co-lead performance in Ridley Scott's Alien: Romulus, which also stars Cailee Spaeny. He also headlined the critically lauded Raine Allen Miller directorial Rye Lane, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2023 and earned a BAFTA nomination for Outstanding British Film.
Jonsson's upcoming projects also include Wasteman, also starring Tom Blyth in a key role, and the adaptation of Stephen King's novel The Long Walk alongside Cooper Hoffman. Jonsson has also been cast in Scandalous, which marks actor-playwright Colman Domingo's maiden directorial and also stars Sydney Sweeney.
Jonsson is also known for his roles in television. He has a lead role in the 2023 series adaptation of Agatha Christie's novel Murder is Easy for BBC and plays Gus in BBC and HBO's series Industry, which debuted in 2020.
