Earlier, we reported about Austin Butler starring in a crime thriller titled Caught Stealing from director Darren Aronofsky. The latest from the project is that its distributor Sony Pictures has scheduled it for an August 29 release in theatres. Caught Stealing has taken the previous release slot of Insidious 6, with the distributor pushing the sixth instalment in the horror franchise to August 21 next year. Production on the film wrapped in November last year.
An adaptation of Charlie Huston's eponymous book, Caught Stealing follows a former basketball player (Butler) who gets into a survival struggle in the criminal world of New York City in the 1990s. The film also stars Regina King, Zoe Kravitz, Liev Schreiber, Bad Bunny, Vincent D’Onofrio, Action Bronson, Griffin Dunne, and Matt Smith. Huston adapted his own book for the screen.
Aronofsky also produced the film with Ari Handel, his longtime partner at Protozoa Pictures.
