Harrison Ford has featured in some of the most successful films ever in cinema history, including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Blade Runner films. However, when Blade Runner filmmaker Ridley Scott pitched Ford as the lead actor to the film's financiers, the latter asked who he was to the former. Scott made the startling revelation about Ford in a recent retrospective conversation with GQ. Ford had already done Star Wars with George Lucas and Raiders of the Lost Ark with Steven Spielberg before Blade Runner. But "he was not a star (at the time)," said Scott. Then filmmaker then added that he told his financiers "You’re going to find out" who Ford was.
In Blade Runner, Ford plays a cop named Rick Deckard who is tasked with eliminating some Replicants who came to planet Earth to discover the person who created them. The film is known for its futuristic world-building and evocative music, besides the performances by Ford, Rutger Hauer, and others. Ford also appeared in Denis Villeneuve's sequel to the 1982 film, titled Blade Runner 2049, opposite Ryan Gosling.
