After months of will-it-won't-it speculations, fans can finally rejoice as Interstellar is officially set to return to theaters on February 7.
Originally planned for a re-release last year to mark its 10th anniversary, the iconic sci-fi masterpiece by director Christopher Nolan was delayed due to competing blockbusters like Pushpa 2: The Rule. If all goes well, the film will come out on 70mm Imax, one of the formats that filmmaker Nolan prefers, and digital screens.
Interstellar revolves around a group of astronauts who travel to outer space in search of a more habitable planet as dust storms and blights herald a dystopian earth. The film stars Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Timothée Chalamet, Mackenzie Foy, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck, and John Lithgow.
Paul Franklin, Andrew Lockley, Scott Fisher, and Ian Hunter bagged an Academy Award in 2015 for Visual Effects for the film. It is also known for Hans Zimmer's meditative original score, which set the tone for the epic sci-fi saga.
