Golden Globes 2025: Best Supporting Actor winner Kieran Culkin forgets acceptance speech

Kieran Culkin won Best Supporting Actor at the 2025 Golden Globes for his performance in A Real Pain, also starring Jesse Eisenberg in his own directorial. But his acceptance speech made for a light-hearted moment as the actor forgot what he prepared to say on the stage. "My wife and I did a shot of tequila with Mario Lopez," stated Culkin to a rapturous audience. "Definitely feeling that! Whole speech is gone!" he added.

Culkin also won a Golden Globe award for best actor in a television drama last year for his performance in Succession finale, beating his fellow nominees, including Jeremy Strong. Interestingly, Strong was nominated for Best Supporting Actor this year for his work on The Apprentice. Culkin was nominated thrice for best supporting actor for HBO's Succession, as well as best actor in a musical or comedy for 2002's Igby Goes Down. Culkin was sober enough to address this in his acceptance speech.

"The first ever acknowledgement I got as an actor was Golden Globe nomination. I was basically a kid, and so that meant a lot," stated the actor while adding, "Now it’s like the best date night that my wife and I have ever had."
