It has been two years since actor Jeremy Renner faced a near-death experience after his snow plough accident. He took to his Instagram handle and expressed gratitude, thanking hospital staff for saving his life after he was accidentally run over by a 14,300-pound snowcat at his home in Reno, Nevada in January 2023.

"Ringing in my second ‘ReBirthday’ today," Renner wrote in the caption. "I send out my love, respect, and gratitude for the army of people that it took to put me back together again. Thank you to each and every nurse, doctor, first responder… I literally owe you my life. All my heart goes out to my beautiful, brave nephew and the angels (my neighbors) who jumped to my aid and endured the chaos for 45 long minutes on the icy asphalt New Years morning. I’m so sorry all the haunting images I imprinted on you all (I’ll spare you all from the meat grinding images)."

Stating that his gratitude list is long, he continued his post, saying, "With the amount of love and prayers that flooded in from you all around the world (needing each and everyone of them), my family never leaving my side , with some divine intervention, a bit of luck and a whole lot of miracles … I stand strong again. More Open. More Loved. More Connected. And f*****g BLESSED to take my next step, to take my next breath. Thank you with every fiber and cell in my body. I love you all.(sic)"

Following the accident, Renner was hospitalised for blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries. He was crushed under the weight of his Sno-Cat while he was trying to help his nephew out of the snow near his home. The incident left many bones in his body broken--almost 30--including eight ribs broken in 14 places, right knee and ankle broken, left leg tibia broken, left ankle broken, right clavicle broken, right shoulder broken and more.

Although the recovery was a long process, he healed and returned to film The Mayor of Kingstown, which was recently renewed for a fourth season. He also acted in the upcoming new Knives Out film, titled Wake Up Dead Man, which is set for a release sometime this year. He stars alongside Daniel Craig, Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, and Kerry Washington, among other actors.
