Krysten Ritter, known for her roles in Jessica Jones and Orphan Black: Echoes, has signed on to star for a guest role in the upcoming much-anticipated Dexter: Resurrection series which will see Michael C Hall returning to play the lead role as the infamous titular character Dexter Morgan.

Ritter will recur as Mia Lapierre, a renowned sommelier who may be hiding a serial killer secret.

Furthermore, David Zayas, Jack Alcott, and James Remar will reprise their iconic roles as series regulars, returning as Angel Batista, Harrison Morgan, and Harry Morgan, respectively. Recently Peter Dinklage joined the cast of the film as Leon Prater, a billionaire venture capitalist whose outward reputation as a generous philanthropist conceals a much darker side. Uma Thurman, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusaand and Emilia Suárez also star. Apart from starring in the lead, Hall will also serve as the narrator as he did in all of the previous series including the recently-completed prequel series Dexter: Original Sin which has Patrick Gibson in the lead role. The series concluded its first season, 10-episode run on February 14.

Dexter: Resurrection is a follow-up to the 2021 Dexter: New Blood and is set in the present day. The series will be released in the summer of 2025. Further details regarding the plot have been kept under wraps.

Clyde Phillips (DexterDexter: Original Sin) returns as showrunner and executive producer for Dexter: Resurrection, which is produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios. Michael C Hall (DexterSix Feet Under) also serves as an executive producer, alongside Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris), and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll), with Marcos Siega (Dexter: New Blood) taking on the role of producing director.

Monica Raymund (Dexter: Original Sin) will direct four episodes, while Siega will direct six. The series will be distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Ritter recently led the Orphan Black spinoff series Echoes for AMC and BBC America and was a key member of the main cast in Max’s limited series Love & Death. As a writer, her second novel, Retreat, is set for release on March 25.
