
Outer Banks and Queer-fame Drew Starkey has joined the cast of upcoming Apple TV+ series Lucky, starring Anya Taylor-Joy in the lead role. He joins an ensemble cast which includes Annette Bening, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Timothy Olyphant. Multiple episodes of the series will be directed by Jonathan Van Tulleken who also executive-produces the show.
Written by Jonathan Tropper based on Marissa Stapley’s bestselling novel, Anya Taylor-Joy plays the titular character in this series where she leaves a violent life of crime behind her. But when a dangerous situation forces her to return to her old ways, Lucky will need to do everything in her power to move on from her past. Even if it means embracing her criminal side one last time.
Drew Starkey will portray Lucky's husband, Cary. Apart from headlining the series, Anya Taylor-Joy also serves as the executive producer along with Reese Witherspoon. While Taylor-Joy executive produces through Ladykiller, Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter produce it under Hello Sunshine banner. Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas are showrunners of the series. Tropper also serves as the writer and executive producer through his Tropper Ink banner.
Most recently, Starkey was seen starring opposite Daniel Craig in Luca Guadagnino's Queer. His previous acting credits include The Other Zoey (2023) and the Prime Video series The Terminal List (2022).
