This marks Hanz Zimmer's fifth Grammy Award in his career

It may be ineligible for an Oscar and has lost out on a Best Original Score at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards to Challengers, but Hanz Zimmer's score for Dune: Part Two has bagged a Grammy Award in the 'Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media' category. Earlier, the score did not make the cut for a Best Original Score Oscar due to a technicality. The Academy did not consider it because it contains plenty of music from Zimmer's own score for the film's first part. This marks Hanz Zimmer's fifth Grammy Award in his career; earlier, he won two Grammys for The Lion King as well as one each for his work in Crimson Tide and The Dark Knight. Unlike the Oscar, the Grammy Award in the said category also considers compositions for television entertainment.

Zimmer is in contention for a Best Original Score Oscar for his work on Steve McQueen’s Second World War drama Blitz.
