

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to back the film adaptation of The Wedding Date, by author Jasmine Guillory, for Netflix. The streamer has roped in the scribe of Girls Trip, Tracy Oliver, for the adaptation. They are joined by Tracy Ryerson as producer.
The 2018 novel The Wedding Date is the first book in The Wedding Date series, followed by The Proposal, The Wedding Party, Royal Holiday, Party of Two, and While We Were Dating.
Oliver, known for her work in Girls Trip, also has to her credits Barbershop: The Next Cut, Trip, Little, The Sun Is Also a Star, and The Blackening. On the television side, she has penned for series such as The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl, The Neighbors, Survivor's Remorse, First Wives Club, and Harlem. Currently, she is working on Girls Trip 2, The Blackening 2, and Deck the Y'alls.
This will be the seventh project in Harry-Meghan's partnership with Netflix. Their company, Archewell, with the streamer, has collaborated on Polo, Meghan, With Love, Heart of Invictus, Live to Lead, and Harry & Meghan.
