Earlier, we reported about the teaser for Avengers: Doomsday allegedly getting leaked online, revealing Chris Evans' return as Steve Rogers, alongside Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter. According to the latest reports, the Spider-Man: Brand New Day teaser has also been leaked, and it has interesting revelations about the film's universe. Very little is visible in a video claiming to be the teaser, but reports suggest that Sadie Sink plays the role of the antagonist named Shathra in the film. Apparently, it also gives a glimpse at The Hand, an extremely powerful villain from Marvel Comics.
Recently, Sink's Romeo and Juliet co-star Noah Jupe told Deadline that the actor stars in an upcoming Avengers film, making netizens speculate about whether it is Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, the latest speculation contradicts the earlier one about her starring as Peter Parker's (Tom Holland) daughter Mayday Parker.
Sony is reportedly removing the leaked Spider-Man: Brand New Day teaser, which in effect hints at its authenticity, which is apparently what happened in the case of the alleged Avengers: Doomsday teaser. Reportedly, the teaser shows Sink's character threatening Holland's Parker having learnt about the latter's Spider-Man identity. Unconfirmed sources claim that the criminal named Tombstone, Bruce Banner, and Punisher are also part of the teaser for the upcoming instalment in the Spider-Man franchise.
Meanwhile, according to reports, Marvel Studios is set to release four separate Avengers: Doomsday promotional materials at Avatar: Fire and Ash screenings.
Meanwhile, there are claims that Sony intentionally leaked the teaser for the Spider-Man film to create some hype for it, just like how Marvel Studios allegedly leaked Avengers: Doomsday's teaser. It remains to be seen whether and how these events will affect the films' marketing strategies going forward.
