Nicolas Cage is playing a version of Spider-Man/Peter Parker in executive producer and director Harry Bradbeer's live-action series Spider-Noir, confirms a new poster for the series unveiled the other day at São Paulo's Comic-Con Experience. Omelete, an entertainment website from Brazil, was the first to drop the poster on social media. The poster shows a silhouette of Cage's character Ben Reilly behind a door. Interestingly, Cage is also known for his voice role as Spider-Man Noir from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. When the makers first announced the series, many fans thought that he would reprise the same role in the series. This is why the new poster from the series' makers has been catching them by surprise.

Marvel Comics first mentioned writer Gerry Conway's character Ben Reilly in one of its 1975 magazine editions, titled The Amazing Spider-Man Volume 149. A version of Spider-Man/Peter Parker, Reilly turned from a foe of the former into one of his allies. Andy Samberg voiced the character in 2023's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

As per the official logline from Prime Video, the Spider-Noir plot revolves around “an ageing and down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York, played by Academy Award winner Cage, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero."

The series from co-showrunner and executive producer Oren Uziel also stars Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Abraham Popoola, Brendan Gleeson, and Jack Huston. Guest actors include Cameron Britton, Lukas Haas, Cary Christopher, Scott MacArthur, Michael Kostroff, Joe Massingill, Amanda Schull, Whitney Rice, Andrew Caldwell, Andreew Robinson, Amy Aquino, and Kai Caster.

The series from producer Sony Pictures Television will release next year on Prime Video, a day after its US release on the MGM+ channel. The producer will make it accessible in both colour and black and white formats. The makers have also released the new Spider-Noir poster in both formats.
