Releasing the first look, Apple has announced that the five-part documentary of filmmaker Martin Scorsese, Mr Scorsese, will begin streaming on the platform from October 17.
The series, apart from providing unrestricted access to the private archives of the director, it will also have interviews with accomplished talents such as Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Day-Lewis, Robbie Robertson, Mick Jagger, Thelma Schoonmaker, Sharon Stone, Steven Spielberg, Jodie Foster, Paul Schrader, Cate Blanchett, Margot Robbie, Rodrigo Prieto, and Jay Cocks, along with Scorsese's wife Helen Schermerhorn Morris and their children.
Directed by Rebecca Miller, the documentary begins with Scorsese as a film student at NYU and continues to the present day. The first glimpse shows Scorsese and his peers discussing how far he went to protect Taxi Driver and how the film's director's cut nearly got shelved.
The documentary produced by Ron Burkle has Miller serving as an executive producer with her longtime collaborators Damon Cardasis (Round Films) and Cindy Tolan, alongside Rick Yorn, Julie Yorn and Christopher Donnelly.
