James Gunn is making it clear that Robin is not confirmed for The Batman Part II, no matter what online chatter suggests.

Speculation about the Boy Wonder joining Matt Reeves’ upcoming sequel has been circulating among fans, but Gunn addressed the matter directly on Threads this Friday. “Guys, please stop believing this nonsense,” he wrote. “I think six of us have read the script. No one knows anything about The Batman 2.”

The DC Studios co-chair and Superman director also reminded followers earlier in the week that unverified details about the film are nothing but guesswork. “Anything you’ve heard about that movie is made up or a guess. No one in the world knows anything about the concept for the story except four people,” Gunn posted on Monday.

According to Warner Bros. Discovery, The Batman Part II will head into production in spring 2026, with an October 2027 release date on the calendar. The studio revealed the timeline in a Thursday letter to shareholders, which also outlined a slate of upcoming DC projects.

The announcement highlighted titles such as Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (2026), Clayface (2026), and a new Wonder Woman film. Alongside these, DC is building toward a long-term interconnected slate that includes TV series like The Penguin, the next season of Peacemaker, and the debut of Lanterns in 2026.

Within the DC Universe there are also TV series, with the first one being the animated series, Creature Commandos. In the DCU, the upcoming slate includes the second season of Peacemaker, which stars John Cena as the titular character.

Gunn is fresh off the release of Superman, which was released on July 11. It starred David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. It is the first feature film in the newly formed DC Studios.
