Sam Elliott has joined the cast of the second season of Landman, reports Deadline. The series comes from the creator of Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan, which starred Kevin Costner and Kelly Reilly in the lead.

Sam Elliott was nominated for an Oscar for his role in A Star is Born in the Best Supporting Actor category. Some of the projects he has appeared in include Ghost Rider, Hulk (2003), Tombstone, and Road House (1985). He previously collaborated with Sheridan on the Yellowstone spinoff 1883.

Landman is based on the 11-part podcast Boomtown, which follows Tommy Norris as he navigates the rough terrain of the oil fields in Texas.

The first season of the series starred Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Miller, with the rest of the cast including Jon Hamm, Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Colm Feore, Jacob Lofland, Pauline Chavez, and James Jordan.

Christian Wallace is also the creator of Landman alongside Sheridan. He serves as an executive producer on the series with Sheridan, Thornton, Ron Burkle, Dan Friedkin, Michael Friedman, David C Glasser, Jason Hoch, David Hutkin, Stephen Kay, Geyer Kosinski, JK Nickell, and Bob Yari. Tommy Turtle is a co-executive producer on Landman.

The first season of Landman will start to stream on JioHotstar from May 21.
