Earlier, we reported about Michael C Hall reprising his role as the titular vigilante serial killer in a new instalment in the Dexter franchise, titled Dexter: Resurrection. The latest from the project is that it will premiere on Paramount+ with two episodes on July 11, followed by its Showtime debut on July 13. The date was announced in the latest teaser for Dexter: Resurrection, featuring Hall's character sporting his trademark grin as he holds a newspaper with the title, "Dexter Morgan Is Dead."

The original series Dexter had an eight-season run from 2006 to 2013 on Showtime. The audience felt dissatisfied about season 8; therefore, the makers created a sequel series titled Dexter: New Blood recently. Dexter: Resurrection follows the events of the sequel to the original series. According to the official logline, it "takes place weeks after Dexter Morgan takes a bullet to the chest from his own son, as he awakens from a coma to find Harrison (Jack Alcott) gone without a trace. Realising the weight of what he put his son through, Dexter sets out for New York City, determined to find him and make things right. But closure won’t come easy. When Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) arrives with questions, Dexter realises his past is catching up to him fast. As father and son navigate their own darkness in the city that never sleeps, they soon find themselves deeper than they ever imagined—and that the only way out is together."

Besides Hall, Zayas, and Alcott, Dexter: Resurrection also stars Uma Thurman, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Emilia Suarez, James Remar, and Peter Dinklage. Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, David Dastmalchian, and Eric Stonestreet also appear as guest stars.
